Let’s Talk: Our First Coffee Date

Happy Friday All!

Today I’m starting a new series…”Let’s Talk: Coffee Date”. I’ve seen this done on a few other blogs and always find them to be really fun! It gives us a chance to pretend like we’re on a relaxing little coffee date just catching up with life, which is something this stay at home momma needs after taking care of kiddos all day 😉 Let’s get started!MACHINE SHOP.jpg

If we were having a coffee date, these are some of the things I’d ask and here are my answers…

How’s life?

Boy have things been BUSY! Between trying to balance my time between taking care of my kiddos, housewife duties, working for my parents, my blog AND building my business as a health & fitness coach, I find the days are just passing by! The past few weeks have been the hardest to find that balance though and I’ve been feeling a little ragged by the end of the day. In April we’re planning to put Jase in daycare 2 days a week, so I’m hoping that helps. The thing I’m struggling with most is having enough time in the day to do activities with him as often as I’d like…I’m really hoping daycare will help give him what he needs when I can’t.

What’s new?

We’ve been working on building our second garden since it’s just about time for us to plant our spring crops. We haven’t quite decided what we’ll plant just yet, but we’re leaning towards blueberries, bell peppers, tomatoes and I really want to plant sweet potatoes. We also have a few trips coming up that I’m pretty excited about! In March my BFF, her daughter, myself & my kiddos are taking a little road trip to see my mom in Arizona. We’re going to make it a girl’s weekend (plus Jase!) since my hubby will be at the SF Giants Spring Training in Phoenix with the guys!

Anything else going on in your life? Anything I can help you with?

For myself, I’d say I just need more dates like this. Often times I find myself missing conversation with others, especially mommas of young ones, and love when I can get together with a girlfriend to chat and lean on one another. I’m so grateful for the ability to stay home with my kiddos and wouldn’t change it for the world, but a nice relaxing coffee date with a friend is definitely a must 😉

Thank you all so much for going on this virtual coffee date with me! Please let me know your answers to the questions above. Until next time…

XOXO,

~P

Momma Talk: Savannah 2 Months Old

Good Morning,

Hope the week is treating you well! It’s been a busy one for us, we leave tomorrow morning for Northern California to visit my hubby’s family, so I’ve been trying to get everything ready for that! It’ll be our first trip as a family of four, and it’s an 8+ hour road trip, so I’m definitely feeling a little anxious 😉 Last Monday {February 1st} our baby girl turned 2 months old (!!!), I just can’t believe how quickly time flies now that we have two kiddos. I’m going to be writing her 1 year post before I know it, eeekkk! Here’s what our sweet girl is up to at 2 months:img_20160201_073515.jpg

Weight: 11lbs 9oz

Length: 22.8″

Likes:

  • Being able to see me at all times. She is definitely a momma’s girl and I LOVE it! It makes my heart happy to know all she needs is her momma sometimes ❤
  • She loves to sit on my lap and smile/coo at me while I talk to her. She has the sweetest crooked smile it just melts my heart!
  • Being in her swing. We’ve been using the swing a lot more over the last few weeks for her naps and she sleeps SO good in it! It has a mobile, makes sounds and a mirror in it where she can see herself. As soon as as I lay her in it, she smiles and kicks her little feet!
  • Watching Jase play! She loves watching her big brother run around the living room acting silly 🙂

Dislikes:

  • Having a dirty diaper. She is such a girl and becomes quite dramatic when her diaper is dirty!
  • Having to wait to eat. Most days I try to time it to where I’ll feed her just before I get started on dinner so we can enjoy our meal without a fussy baby, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen. She is NOT a happy camper when she’s hungry!
  • When my hubby sneezes. It’s seriously the funniest thing! Every time he sneezes she instantly starts to cry a very dramatic cry, silly girl 😉

Eating:

She’s still nursing like a champ! I’m so relieved and proud of her. Like I mentioned before, Jase was/is not a good eater which has caused it’s fair share of stress, love that our little girl has been awesome at nursing so far! She still nurses about every 2 hours during the day, except for in the afternoon she can go 4 hours. At night she’s doing really well and typically only needs to nurse once!

Sleeping:

This little girl loves her sleep! She’s been a rock start at it since day 1 and I couldn’t be happier. We typically put her to bed between 9-10pm and she’ll fall right to sleep without needing any help from me. She then sleeps until about 2-3am and will nurse for about 20-30min, then go right back to sleep until sometime between 5-6am. We’re so lucky to have such a great sleeper this time around!img_20160206_071249.jpg

I just adore our sweet girl and love that we get to see more and more of her personality each day! I can tell she’s going to have the sweetest disposition and will probably be a little more on the quite side like a I am. I’m loving the moments I get when it’s just her and I rocking in the rocking chair for I know it won’t be long before she’s off playing with her big brother!

XOXO,

Fitness Talk: A fire has been lit!

Happy Friday Everyone!

As many of you know, I became a Health and Fitness Coach with Team Beachbody last September. When I decided to embark on this journey I’ll admit there was some fear that came along with it. I had tried a few different multi level marketing companies in the past but never made anything of them. Fear of failure crept in during the first few months, but I was determined to make this time different. I had made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t give up, not this time. I wasn’t sure what the future held for me in this business, but what I was sure of was my passion for helping others. I’ve always loved health and fitness and now that I’m at a stage in my life where I’ve found a good balance with it, I feel an obligation to share what I’ve learned. I think that’s our duties as human beings and citizens of this world: share your struggles, what you’ve learned from them and most of all…share your passion.

And that brings me to today, 5 months in and more on fire than I’ve ever imagined! I still don’t know exactly what the future holds for me in this journey, but what I do know is I WILL SUCCEED. I have no doubt about this because I know in my heart that I’m doing this for the right reasons: to help others flourish in their lives so they can live happy, healthy, full filled lives. I’m starting to see what this opportunity can also do for my family. I didn’t become a coach for the money, but now seeing and learning what’s possible, makes me so excited for the opportunity it will give my family too. Doing what I love and making a significant income from it will give us the freedom to go on trips with our children and explore the world around us, it will give us the financial freedom to make our house our dream home, it will give us the ability to donate and help others in need or support organizations we’re passionate about…it will give us the life we’ve always wanted but never thought we’d actually have, and all while doing something I LOVE!
image

So you can see why a fire has been lit! There is so much to look forward to…just last night I was talking to my hubby about this fire and I could tell he had no idea the opportunity this new journey would provide for us. He sees the passion within me and knows that I’m determined to changes lives, including our own. I can’t wait to look back a year from now and see how many lives and health journey’s I’ve been able to be a part of and where our own life has taken us!
image

I’m ready to build of team of people who have this fire inside of them too! If fear of failure is holding you back from taking a chance on yourself, I challenge you to push pass that fear…it will always be there, it’s just a matter of how you use it that will make all the difference!

XOXO,

~ P

Momma Talk: Toddler Activities

Hey Friends!

Today I wanted to share with you some of the activities that I’ve been doing with Jase lately. Now that he’s getting to the stage where he’s soaking up information left and right, I wanted to make sure I’m exposing him to activities that help him learn and grow. It’s not always easy to have a lot of one on one time now that we have our sweet girl, but I do try to make it a point to do something productive with him each day, even if it’s for just 15 mins. Here are some of things we’ve been up to lately:

Play-Doh!

For his 2nd birthday I bought him a set of play-doh and it has been such a great activity for him. We use it to teach him colors and how to build things. It’s so fun now that he tries to build his own things or will ask us to build something for him 🙂 It’s also a great activity for him to do while I’m cooking dinner or putting away the laundry. I just put him in his high chair and he’ll sit there for a good 20 min having a blast!img_20160202_150213.jpg

Painting

A few months a go I took Jase to the store to get a few books and I found this awesome Thomas the Train coloring/painting book that came with a paint set. It has been SO fun to watch him paint pictures. He’s so proud of his work and I love watching his creative side come out ❤img_20160202_150042.jpg

Puzzles

This is a new one for us. I bought him a spider man puzzle since he LOVES spider man and thought it would be a fun activity for him. Since then we’ve acquired quite a few more and play with them often. He can’t do them himself yet, but he helps me pick out the right pieces and lets me put them together. This is such a great activity for him to learn shapes and how they fit together as well as matching!img_20160202_145744.jpg

Lite Brite

My cousin bought Jase a Lite Brite (remember those?!?!) for Christmas and he just loves it! It came with a few different sheets for him to make fun pictures with and has a few different light settings. The sheets are also color coded and there are a few different shapes, so it’s a great way for him to learn matching colors and shapes too 🙂 I think this will be a favorite of his for quite some time!img_20160202_145924.jpg

That’s all for today! I hope you all have a great Wednesday and let me know if you have any fun activities that you like to do with your kiddos 😉

XOXO

Food Talk: This Weeks Meals

Good Morning and Happy February!!

I’m pretty excited for this month since we’re going on our first family road trip in a couple weeks to visit my hubby’s side of the family. Many of them haven’t met Savannah yet, so I know it’ll be a great time visiting with them as well as some of our closest friends! And since we’ll be there for Valentine’s Day, my hubby and I are going to go on a little date. I’m excited to getaway just the two of us for a few hours, it makes all the difference when we take the time to focus on our relationship too ❤

As many of you know, I’m slightly obsessed with Giada de Laurentiis’ cookbook “Feel Good Food” and use it most of the time when picking out our meals for the week. And this week is no different! Here’s what we have on tap for this week..Food Talk-This Weeks Meals

Monday: Lemon Mustard Potato Salad & Grilled Chicken {I’ve made this salad before and the dressing is SO tasty!! I think it’ll pair perfectly with the chicken.}

Tuesday: Stuffed Bell Peppers {I couldn’t find the exact recipe that I’m going to make, but this one is close!}

Wednesday: Pancakes, Eggs and Fresh Fruit {We like to have a “Breakfast for Dinner” night once in a while, so I thought this week was as perfect as any! I typically use Cup4Cup or Birch Benders gluten free pancake mix and add in some vanilla extract & cinnamon, Yum!}

Thursday: Pork Tenderloin w/Citrus Slaw {If you want a recipe for super tender pork tenderloin, this one is the ticket! Comes out perfect every time!}

Friday: Linguine w/Shrimp, Asparagus & Cherry Tomatoes {Since I’m gluten free I’ll be using a gluten free spaghetti I found at Trader Joes.}

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

XOXO,

Fitness Talk: Changing It Up!

It’s Friday!!

TGIF right?!?! Friday’s are one of my favorite days, it’s my hubby’s first day off work and the start to our 3 day weekend. I usually use this day to schedule in appointments, so today I’ll be going to the dentist (yay!) for a cleaning. I typically hate going to the dentist, but I’m actually looking forward to it today. I’m seeing a new doctor that I’ve heard is great and after the experience with my last one, my fingers are crossed! Other than that we have a pretty quite weekend which is always nice after a busy week 🙂Fitness Talk-Changing it Up!

We’re currently in our second 21 Day Fix group “Flourish Fit Camp” of the year and things are going great! I purchased the 21 Day Fix Extreme to try this time and so far I’m loving the change. I’m one of those that tends to get bored with workout programs pretty easily, so it’s nice to have options like this. I’ve also been incorporating PiYo since I’d really like to hold a PiYo/21 Day Fix group in the near future. I LOVE yoga and pilates, so this program is perfect for someone like me! I’ll do a more in depth review of both programs once our group is complete and I’ve run through each workout a few times.

My next big change will be coming mid February! Our team is putting on a “Couples Commit Challenge” using Beachbody’s newest program The Master’s Hammer & Chisel. I’m so excited about this program and have heard nothing but great things about it! It comes with 12 workouts which is great considering the challenge goes for 30 days. There will be a cash prize at the end for the couple with the best results, so it’s should be a great time!! If you’d like to hear more about the challenge or Hammer & Chisel, please feel free to message me. We’re hoping to have a really good turn out and would love for you to join us!

XOXO
